How to Make Your Own Good Vibes Jar by Dual Crossroads

Whenever I look at my Good Vibes Jar, I feel a little bit of warmth inside. It seems so simple in its design, but my Good Vibes Jar (GVJ for short) holds in it bits of sacred herbs, crystals, personal intentions, and was bathed with essential oils. With this combination, I have something benefiting to me that's small, portable, and a pleasure to have nearby.

The ingredients I used for my GVJ relate to things I wish to invite into my life, alongside with what speaks to me on a spiritual level. My mixture of sage, rosemary, amethyst, frankincense, etc is what I needed in my jar, but every person's GVJ is different. This can be by its contents, or its desired affect.

DIY for Your Own Jar

Here is a quick DIY guide on how you can make your own GVJ!

Part 1. Know What You Want

Determine what you want to draw in to your life. Is it just good vibes in general? Are you in need of good dreams? A protected home? Perhaps a sense of calm instead of anxiety? Whatever the goal you wish to manifest, determine what it is and use that to guide you on what ingredients to use.

Part 2: Gather Your Ingredients

After you know what you want to have happen, gather your ingredients! This can be with herbs, crystals, positive notes/affirmations, a keepsake of the last time you felt the way you wish to feel, oils, etc. If you're unsure what kind of herbs, crystals and oils you should use, I made a quick (though detailed) reference below. Remember, you can also put in your jar words of affirmation, keepsakes that carry with them the energy you wish to have, etc.

Part 3: Place Items in Jar

We are now getting into the ritualistic part of making your jar. When putting your items in, do it in order of how you want your good vibes to come to you.

As an example, if making a GVJ for good dreams, put in an item for cleansing first, then an item for protection, then an item for good dreams, then an item for calm, then more items protection, and have the final items be for cleansing. You are basically coming full circle with your ingredients.

You can also think of it as a sandwich. You have the top crust, then the sauces, then the cheese/lettuce, then the yummy goodies, then some more sauces, then finally the last layer of crust to keep it all in.

Part 4: Final Prayer/Meditation/Blessing

Once you have finished putting your GVJ together, you will want to seal it, and bless it with either a prayer, meditation, or ritualized blessing. When sealing your jar, some people recommend doing so with wax, or the mason jar's lid.

Personally, I prefer to cover my jars with colored tissue, and tie it shut with twine. I prefer this because I want the energy of my jar to be able to freely leave and reenter the jar. I do not want it caged or closed off, or sealed in so that it cannot "breathe". Plus, it is nice to occasionally pick up the jar and take in a breath of its scent through the tissue.

So, I seal my jar with the tissue, and as I tie my jar closed, I say in my heart a prayer for the light of above to guide me, protect me, and be present in what I wish for this jar to bring.

And that's it!

All you have to do now is place your jar somewhere you feel it would benefit at best. For me, I placed my jar next to my desk at work so I will always see it. It is also closest to the door, thereby being the first thing anything (or anyone) coming in will come across.
